NiCrad Radiant Tubes
|
NiCrad Radiant Tubes are specially alloyed tubes. Furnace Concepts has developed a proprietary method of
manufacturing centrifically cast tubes with extremely high performance characteristics. These tubes are
excellent for use with electric elements or gas burners. Temperature capabilities are to 2100°F.
|
|
The alloy is essentially a high Nickel and Chrome combination, which can be further, optimized as needed to
exhibit a variety of enhanced capabilities for use in different environments. The alloy also exhibits a very
favorable emmisivity of .88 which allows the surface to release heat generated by the source much quicker and
thus reduce the temperature build up inside the tube and allows for quicker response times within the furnace.
|
|
NiCrad tubes can be used in a most common furnace atmospheres including inert and reducing environments
due to the excellent stability of Nickel bearing alloys in these types of conditions . The high hot strength and
excellent creep strength give this compound the ability for long high temperature campaigns. The development
of this product was necessitated by the high temperatures now available in electric furnace elements and
continues to show promise for other performance applications.
|
|
This alloy is extremely stable at high temperatures exhibiting good form stability and corrosion resistance. The
compound is easily machined and weldable so that accessories can readily be installed such as return bend, end
caps and flanges. The alloy is compatible with many common alloys, which help reduce the cost of the final
assembly.
|
|
NiCrad radiant tubes can be produced in a wide variety of diameters and lengths. Wall thickness can also be
varied to optimize performance as necessary. Delivery is a constant dependable 4-6 weeks and pricing is
attractive relative to other materials in this classification. As the material is extremely corrosion resistant storage
is also easily arranged.
Tensile strength- 61000 PSI
Yield point- 35000 PSI
Elongation - 4%
Coefficient of thermal expansion- 8.75 EE-06 @ 1800° F
Nicrad radiant tube are also available in "U" , "W" and many other configurations for use in fuel fired or electric. The high temperature performance also indicates usage as retorts muffles and process tubes.
